"The Toothbrush (1918) A short training film made for the U.S. Army to teach soldiers the proper technique for brushing their teeth. Note: Why was it necessary to make and show this film? Were recruits clueless about how to brush their teeth? I wonder." Funny you should mention this. When I was googling toothbrush rugs the last time I commented on here, I came across the history of the toothbrush at toothbrushexpress.com. They had this to say about it: "Hard to believe, but most Americans didn't brush their teeth until soldiers brought the Army's enforced habit back home from World War II."

One of my treasured used-LP finds was "[Muhammad] Ali & His Gang vs. Mr. Tooth Decay": http://franklarosa.com/vinyl/Exhibit.jsp?AlbumID=82 Quite the all-star line-up! Sadly, my copy went missing after a cross-country move.

OK OK ....I s'pose that all this hub bub about teeth is necessary but what about something with more zest and flavor or meaty substance ...something to chew on , like local politicians( My dog wouldn't chew on one of them YUCK !) Let's chew the fat ... and really bite into the fact that Ypsilanti needs our constant attention. It's been gnawing at me lately, that with the recent tax vote ...now all is quiet at city hall...are the little crumb snatchers sleeping or are they plotting another way to take a bite out of the local residents and businesses? Maybe they imagined a way to gobble up the 1.3 million in SURPLUS that was hidden (in a cookie jar, up in the attic, behind an old picture of Grover Cleveland ..) under layers of dust and planning commission reports ...and Milk Bones ....aRf Arf
