Let's dust off "the Noid" for these hybrid busses.

Blast from the past! Yes. The Mexican-wrestler-with-bunny-ears look is coming back!

I'm picturing a costumed character randomly boarding buses to hand out prizes, lead on-bus singalongs, &c.

Good suggestion, Mr. Punk.

Idea: In order to underline the eco-message, replace one of the creature's 2 handheld bouquets with a plastic bag full of returnables, similar to those carried by the many recyclers one encounters on the bus.

My experience with the AATA is so limited... We NEED public transportation, without question, but not at the loss of common sense, we could use a rail system, we had a rail system, we sold off the rail system and pulled up the rails and the street cars, some st cars are still in service in Mexico, we sold the st cars, from detroit and replaced it with the Mugger Mover ....AATA has a bus that costs 1500$ for every 75 cents AATA takes in ooohh : ) and I cannot understand the need for a new building , ever for gov't services, ( BIGGER BETTER GOV"T in bigger better buildings ) leaving the old ones to sit and rot ....like the bus center on Carpenter .. Why why why does this keep on happening? ? ? Are we just to numb to it...the political class is corrupt . Cities are broke but building new buildings( and naming them after the political class ) buying development rights, restoring Barns, putting islands in the middle of Mich Ave as well as around the county now to plant trees and flowers in that are dead now ... and expanding ... If I did business that way I would be out of business.I bet the last people to use public transportation will be the municipal and state employees.. the governor will ride once at the grand opening , when it is still clean ... Maybe the AATA could be renamed the WAASTA sorry but it just torks me how abused our system is ...Love the Bus,Love the Idea , hate the logger chain around it's neck of Politico's

My suggestion was "SustainaBug."

Pat the H: The AATA shot itself in the foot when it fired Greg Cook. Bean-counters on the board, it's said, questioned the trips he took to conferences about transportation. He says he took those trips in quest of ways to improve the AATA, and I tend to believe him, having chatted with him on (only) one occasion. He was an inspired leader. I think the hybrid idea was his. I hope the AATA doesn't become moribund without his far-seeing guidance.

Lisele: I like "SustainaBug." I do wish they'd had a contest to design the bug, not just name it. I would really have loved to have seen the submissions.

(grumpily) It's not an insect, anyways...it doesn't have six legs. It's a Lilliputian cyanotic Shreklike winged gnome.

Perfect for advertising a hybrid bus system.
