How'z about as an activity , we could swim across the Huron ,depicting ourselves as illegal entrants to the U.S. and be battled against by the Patriot Guard on the shore ... We shouldn't keep score though as everyone loses in this fight ...

Mr. Handyman, I'm sure you heard about dynamo sexagenarian Liz Elling's titanic swim down the entire Huron this summer, yes? It was amazing.

Here's what she said about Fritz's and my favorite boating spot, behind St. Joe's: "Hidden Treasure"

Here's what she said about the river going through Ypsi and on to Ford Lake, further down that linked page:

"We pushed on through Ypsilanti, in a stretch of the river that needs some TLC. It goes right through the city, but is very unkempt. So much junk filled the river--everything from grocery carts to bicycles and much more."

Karma Man, both the Arboretum in AA and Matthaei in AA do a "Restoration Workday" one time a month, year round. This is when volunteers go there to help prune, clean up in general, pick up any trash. I think this would be a great thing for the DTCDC to implement, and in fact I'm drawing up a calendar of October events I think would be a good schedule, just to contribute my ideas. I'll post it when it's done, sometime during this busy weekend. :)
