Here's the fantasy lineup for Appalachiapalooza. I'd love to go to a concert featuring:

Special Guest Performer: Shannon Lawson (requests: �You Can�t Make Love to Bluegrass� and his bluegrass cover of Marvin Gaye�s �Let�s Get It On�)

Headliner: RFD Boys�natch. They are doing a fundraiser in Ypsi for Riverside Arts Center Oct. 7.

Also playing:

Ypsi crabgrass band Black Jake and the Carnies

�Oak Park Holler� acoustic folk bluegrass band Salt Miners

Detroit acoustic bluegrass (& some jazz) trio Mountain Top Trio

Grand Rapids acoustic folk & bluegrass band Hawks and Owls

I think that makes for a bit of variety within the genre. A concert with these performers should be a hoot.

Shannon Lawson is actually performing in Michigan in November, so it's not so unrealistic that Ypsilanti could entice him to stop by...

Carnie, thank you for visiting my blog.

Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of seeing one of your show. My enjoyment of your music is limited to the recordings on your Myspace page--I'm anxious to buy the new CD when it comes out!

I learned about you from a friend who raved about a show of your he saw live. I checked out your web page and listened, and I was captivated. If you DO do a show in Ypsi, I'll be delighted to advertise it on this blog, if you wish.

Next shows in Ypsi: Tap Room Annex, Ypsilanti Friday, November 16, 9 p.m., with Kevin Meisel Elbow Room, Ypsilanti Saturday, Dec 8, 10 p.m., with Austin Lucas and the Pressmen. Most of the band lives in Depot Town so we play in Ypsi all the time. (We list our shows at www.blackjakeandthecarnies.com/shows.html) Don't worry, if you can't make either of these there'll be plenty more. Glad to see you back online!
