UPDATE! Press release from Gordon's Five and Dime!:

Dear Ypsi Bloggers-

I wanted to personally invite all of you to participate in the Giant Chutes and Ladders game. I have attached a complete letter which, hopefully, will explain all the details of the game clearly. You will need at least 2 people, 1 to spin, and one to be the gamepiece (token).

On each hour, we hope to have special games, such as a blogger game, coffee houses, city council, restaurants, etc. Between these games, the families and children will play for a small donation (suggested $2).

Our hope is to raise over $5,000 for SOS. If all of you participate, your readers will probably be drawn out to meet you and also join the game.

Down the street, we will have music in Aubree's parking lot from noon to evening. This is also a benefit concert for SOS, set up by community records. The headliner will be "The Candy Band", a group of punk rock moms. Their music is great!

Also, if any of you want to sponsor a square, that would be great. They are intended for, but not limited to, businesses. After the event, we imagine that the webpage for the game will be frequented by those reading the news, and hearing the reports.

Thanks so much for your support. If you have any questions, just ask.

Shannon Gordon

Just to clear up the first misconception, we really won't be toughening anybody up. The actual game board is 2 dimensional, and we stayed with that. We did toy with the idea of actual slides and ladders, but thought it best to avoid potential injury and lawsuits.

Oh, TWO-dimensional. Ah. I seem to have misunderstood. Thank you for the clarification, Old Man Gordon.
